• Tip from public leads to arrest of Eden break-in suspect after multi-day search (wfmynews2.com) — An armed suspect accused of breaking into an Eden home and stealing cash and a shotgun was captured after a two-day, multi-county search heavily aided by public tips. Rockingham County deputies, K-9s, drones, and neighboring agencies tracked him from Eden into Guilford County before arresting him near Mayodan, while a second suspect faces related and separate drug charges. 
• Coroner IDs man accused of attempting to cause explosion at South MS courthouse (sunherald.com) — An Eden man, 59-year-old David Ray Wyrick, was shot and killed by Mississippi officers after authorities say he tried to trigger an explosion near the Jackson County Courthouse using a propane tank. Officials there report he pulled a gun on law enforcement and note he previously faced serious charges in a separate Florida incident.
