• BREAKING WED: Officials laud Mebane Buc-ee's at groundbreaking (alamancenews.com) — Efland residents will note that Buc-ee’s first tried to build its North Carolina travel plaza along Mount Willing Road in Efland before shifting plans to Mebane, where officials just broke ground. The massive store is slated to open in 2027, bringing major sales tax revenue, road upgrades, and hundreds of jobs to the nearby area.
