Former coworkers from Women's Hospital remember Collins as a feisty, compassionate nurse anesthetist, cancer survivor, and loyal friend who was always first to help others and brought joy to her patients and colleagues.

Health on Wheels: Guilford County health experts share back-to-school tips, mobile clinic (abc45.com) — Guilford County families can tap a new UNCG-led mobile clinic bringing school physicals, immunizations, and health assessments directly to local campuses, including several in Greensboro. Health experts also share practical back-to-school tips on sleep, hygiene, and illness prevention to help kids stay in class and ease parents' schedules. The next clinic stop is September 8 at Gillespie Park Elementary in Greensboro.

Elon Law Review's 2026 Symposium to examine immigration law changes (elon.edu) — Elon University School of Law will host a free, day-long immigration law symposium at its downtown Greensboro campus on Friday, Sept. 25, bringing national experts to discuss asylum, family immigration, and policy changes. Local attorneys, students, and residents can attend panels and a keynote on how shifting laws affect communities. Advance registration is required because seating is limited.

Pitch In And Clean Up Benbow Preserve (rhinotimes.com) — Guilford County is recruiting adult volunteers to help clean up Benbow Nature Preserve on Britton Street in Greensboro on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. You'll pick up litter along trails and picnic areas, learn how trash affects local waterways, and can even earn community service hours and prizes by registering online in advance.
