After 37 years with the county, including leading efforts on opioid response, behavioral health, and COVID-19, he'll now help shape how core services are delivered to Greensboro and county residents.
   

2. Gov. Passengers can skip the car with NC By Train's new pass (wxii12.com) — Greensboro riders will soon be able to connect from NC By Train directly onto Greensboro Transit Agency buses at no extra cost through a new Rail & Ride pass. Starting October 1, the pass will bundle local transit access into train tickets along the Raleigh–Charlotte corridor, making it easier to finish trips without a car.

Man in Guilford County Detention Center after death of woman, deputies say (myfox8.com) — A man charged in a 2023 assault is now being held in the Guilford County Detention Center in Greensboro on a $5 million secured bond after the woman involved later died from her injuries. Investigators worked with the district attorney, medical examiner, and Stokes County deputies before securing the latest charges, underscoring the seriousness of the case for Guilford County residents.
