The teens are now in secure custody, and officers also seized heroin and firearm components during a related search. Investigators believe a later non-life-threatening teen gunshot injury is tied to the same incident.

DTNA to Close Portland Facility, Move Manufacturing to the Carolinas (worktruckonline.com) — High Point’s Thomas Built Buses plant is one of several Daimler Truck North America facilities in the Carolinas that could gain work as the company shifts truck production from Portland, Oregon. While final model assignments aren’t set, the move underscores DTNA’s long-term investment in its North Carolina manufacturing network and could bolster the local industrial base in and around High Point.

Deed Fraud Information and Resources (guilfordcountync.gov) — Guilford County officials are warning homeowners, including those in High Point, about rising deed fraud schemes that can quietly transfer property without an owner’s knowledge. The county explains common scams, red flags to watch for, and how to check your records, and urges victims to contact law enforcement, including the High Point Police Department, and the Register of Deeds immediately.

Guilford County confirms 11th rabies case of 2026 after raccoon tests positive (abc45.com) — Guilford County health officials are urging residents, including those in High Point, to take rabies precautions after a raccoon in Greensboro tested positive, the county’s 11th animal case this year. Pet owners are reminded that rabies vaccinations are required by law, and residents should report stray animals to Animal Control, using a dedicated High Point number for faster local response.
