• Harnett County Division on Aging Offers Free Fans to Eligible Residents (einpresswire.com) — If you live in Lillington or elsewhere in Harnett County without working air conditioning, you may qualify for a free fan through the Harnett County Division on Aging. Residents 60 and older, or anyone with certain respiratory conditions, can still apply while supplies last and are also welcome to use the Harnett County Resource Center and Library as a cooling center. 
• Pardon our dust: A list of all the ‘new' coming to Sanford (rantnc.com) — Future plans for the U.S. 421 corridor would turn it into Interstate 685, directly linking Lillington with Greensboro, Sanford, Fayetteville, and key interstates I‑85 and I‑95.
