• Raleigh residents get closer look at Poole Road widening project (abc11.com) — A major $43 million plan to widen Poole Road in southeast Raleigh from two to four lanes, including new Neuse River bridges and a pedestrian connection to Poole Road Park, is moving forward after a public meeting. Neighbors voiced both support and concern about how the 2029 project will affect safety, congestion, and community impact, and NCDOT is still accepting resident comments online. 
• Contractors and distributors drive shingle recycling forward (rockroadrecycle.com) — Raleigh will host a major shingle recycling forum on October 14, bringing contractors, distributors and recyclers together to tackle roofing waste and expand asphalt shingle recycling. Attendees will explore ways to cut roofing's carbon footprint, recover valuable asphalt from millions of tons of discarded shingles, and overcome practical barriers to recycling. The gathering aims to grow greener construction practices and new business opportunities.
