• Caution advised in Washington after three dogs tested positive for canine parvovirus (publicradioeast.org) — Dog owners in Washington, especially between First and Sixth streets, are being warned after three local puppies from separate homes tested positive for highly contagious canine parvovirus. Beaufort County Animal Services urges residents to confirm vaccinations, limit young puppies’ exposure to public areas, and stay vigilant since the virus can survive for months on grass and sidewalks.
