• Industry, advocates differ on water-field risks (newsandsentinel.com) — Marietta officials have shelved plans for new groundwater monitoring wells, concluding they'd offer limited early warning and might even create pathways for brine contamination, while continuing regular testing for VOCs, chloride, conductivity, and PFOS. As debate continues over nearby injection wells, the city's new water-treatment plant is expected to be fully online within 30–45 days, with added PFOS treatment not projected to raise costs for Marietta and Reno customers.

Their selections are part of a long list of statewide board and commission appointments by Gov. Mike DeWine, giving Marietta a direct voice in the regional college's leadership and future planning.
