Mentor community gathers for 9/11 memorial service (news-herald.com) — Mentor residents and city leaders gathered at the Mentor Safety Forces Memorial to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with prayers, music, and a wreath-laying. Speakers including the city manager, fire chief, and police chief urged the community to remember the victims, honor first responders, and keep sharing the stories of courage with future generations.

2. Mentor School Board member leaves meeting after accusing superintendent of intimidation (news-herald.com) — A Mentor School Board meeting turned tense when member Rose Ioppolo accused Superintendent Craig Heath of intimidation and then left shortly after the session began. Before adjourning, Heath noted that a consolidation and grade reconfiguration plan for Mentor Schools is expected to be unveiled by the end of September, with special meetings planned for community discussion.

One week after getting blown out, Mentor back on track with 63-18 win over Brunswick (cleveland.com) — Mentor football fans just watched the Cardinals roar back at home, crushing Brunswick 63-18 in their Greater Cleveland Conference opener to move to 3-1. Junior running back Braylon Callahan powered the win with four rushing touchdowns, helping Mentor build a 49-18 halftime lead before heading to Riverside next week.

4. Yardmaster Founder Kurt Kluznik: 1953-2026 (lawnandlandscape.com) — Mentor residents are remembering Yardmaster founder Kurt Kluznik, who has died at 72 after a two-year battle with glioblastoma. The longtime Northeast Ohio business leader, who built his landscaping company from his Mentor home, is praised for mentoring employees, growing opportunities, and inspiring others with his people-first approach and "Leave a Legacy" philosophy.
