WRTA gets $1.76M grant for Belmont Avenue bus route work (vindy.com) — Youngstown riders on WRTA's Belmont Avenue route can expect major upgrades after a $1.76 million state grant, plus local matching funds, was awarded for new shelters, lighting, bike pads, and landscaping. The project, tied to broader Belmont corridor revitalization, aims to improve safety, comfort, and access to jobs and services between downtown and Liberty by the end of 2027.
   

2. Youngstown food truck owner prepares to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant (mahoningmatters.com) — A Youngstown-area favorite, Tra's Gourmet Sandwiches, is moving from the food truck scene toward a new brick-and-mortar, fast-casual restaurant while keeping its trucks and school and swim club partnerships running. Owner Tra'von Eley, a Mahoning County Career & Technical Center culinary graduate, says the opportunity to expand came unexpectedly but felt too good to pass up.
   

3. Rochester Attorney Ivy Collins-Harris Charged After Hollowed-Out Laptops, Drugs Found During Ohio Prison Visit (alabnews.com) — Federal investigators say a Rochester attorney was caught trying to bring hollowed-out laptops packed with cellphones, plus marijuana and tobacco, into the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center in Youngstown. She now faces contraband-smuggling charges after the Youngstown arrest, which followed a separate recent arrest in New York, and has been released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
