1. Developers break ground for Youngstown Technology Park (wfmj.com) — A new Youngstown Technology Park is underway on Exal Court near Salt Springs Road, with a first 50,400-square-foot building expected by May to attract light and advanced manufacturers. Backed by $1.1 million from the City of Youngstown and support from JobsOhio, the three-building industrial park aims to offer ready-to-move-in space so companies can locate and hire here quickly.
   

2. Mobile Mammography Van stops around the Valley in October (wfmj.com) — Youngstown residents can access 3D mammograms close to home when the Joanie Abdu Mobile Mammography Unit visits Belmont Avenue on October 10 and Mahoning County Job and Family Services on Oak Hill Avenue on October 30. The van offers insurance-covered screenings, financial assistance options, and results read by radiologists and computer technology, with appointments available by phone throughout October.
   

3. Lamoncha family manufacturing center dedicated (vindy.com) — Youngstown just dedicated the Lamoncha Family Center for Advanced Manufacturing, a YBI-operated hub for 3D printing and additive manufacturing that supports companies like Humtown Products. Local leaders say the center could help turn Youngstown into a major aerospace and defense innovation hotspot, drawing prime contractors and filling long-vacant industrial buildings with high-tech jobs and equipment.
   

4. Sept. 30 community news (vindy.com) — Youngstown families are at the heart of a Habitat for Humanity Project Playhouse build at Penguin City Brewery, where local businesses are crafting custom playhouses for children in need. Another Youngstown-focused effort, the Ms. Molly Foundation drive, is collecting essentials and donations for Sojourner House and Someplace Safe, with drop-offs accepted at Molly Maid of Trumbull and Mahoning Counties on Belmont Avenue.
   

5. Dan O'Brien Inducted into Youngstown Press Club Hall of Fame (businessjournaldaily.com) — Youngstown readers may recognize Dan O'Brien, managing editor of The Business Journal, who was just inducted into the Youngstown Press Club Hall of Fame at Stambaugh Auditorium. A Youngstown native and YSU graduate, O'Brien reflected on four decades covering local industry and government, and praised the region's journalists who continue reporting despite shrinking newsrooms and tight budgets.
