• Cougar spotted near high school in Gresham (kptv.com) — Police are warning residents near Springwater Trail High School after a cougar was spotted in a tree in a Gresham neighborhood late Wednesday night. Officers are monitoring the animal and asking neighbors to call 911 if it comes down and starts roaming. It's the second cougar seen near a Gresham school this week, after another was euthanized behind Wilkes Elementary. 
• Sen. Wyden visits Downtown Gresham for economic talk, business tour (theoutlookonline.com) — A visit from U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden brought fresh attention to Downtown Gresham's economy, local businesses, and recent federal funding wins. City leaders highlighted a $381 million Downtown/Civic Urban Renewal Plan aimed at boosting parks, safety, utilities, housing, and nightlife, with a vision of a more vibrant, family-friendly downtown that stays active well past 8 p.m.
• 'Hungry' Sandy football ready to feast on new 5A foes (theoutlookonline.com) — Sandy High's football team is dropping into 5A and will now face Gresham, Centennial, David Douglas, and Hood River in a newly formed Special District 1. Coaches say the Pioneers, led by standout lineman Colton Lucas and quarterback Micaiah Turin, are aiming for a 5A state title. Gresham fans will see a familiar, hard-hitting opponent with playoff experience.

What your neighbors are talking about on social media
- Hi there, my son, (122nd and Stark area) found a small female cat, grey and white with dark golden eyes.
I've taken her in to foster and try and find the owners. She's been on the streets for a few weeks or so. Her tail wis bit off by a dog or coyote. (Nextdoor SW Gresham) - There have been several cougar sitings early this morning, as close as the High school.
The structure of our chicken coupe was damaged and the netting was ripped. Maybe a cougar? Apparently scared away before he got the chickens. We are… (Nextdoor SE Springwater Trail)
