State transportation officials warn that delays, inflation, and uncertain state and federal dollars could push key congestion relief and Albina neighborhood reconnection plans well into the next decade, depending on what lawmakers decide.
   

2. 'Where are those babies going to go?': Portland's only recovery center for moms with babies to close (kptv.com) — Portland's only residential addiction treatment center where mothers can stay with their children is set to close next month, leaving families and providers scrambling for options. Central City Concern says the Letty Owings Center's aging building, rising medical needs, and multimillion-dollar deficits make operations unsustainable, while advocates warn the shutdown could push vulnerable Portland moms to choose between treatment and keeping their kids.
   

3. Portland officials give update on Centennial Mills fire, park to reopen Friday (koin.com) — Most of Fields Park in Northwest Portland will reopen Friday morning, restoring a key green space that's been closed since the massive Centennial Mills fire. City and fire officials detailed ongoing demolition, debris removal, and a still-active investigation into the August blaze, while keeping the playground closed a bit longer for new sand and bark dust installation.

Venezuelan National Shot By Border Patrol In Portland Sentenced; Faces Deportation (kxl.com) — A recent federal sentencing in Portland means a Venezuelan man involved in a January confrontation with Border Patrol at Adventist Health Portland will be deported after time served and restitution.
