Big Laughs, Bigger Ambition: “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” Comes to Wallingford
Get ready to climb the corporate ladder the easy way- no experience needed! Rose Valley Chorus and Orchestra presents the satirical musical comedy, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, April 18- April 26 at Strath Haven Middle School. The show has music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert, and is based on the 1952 satirical guide to climbing the corporate ladder by Shepherd Mead. This musical is directed by Chris Fitting with music direction and conducting by Florrie Marks.
Follow the ambitious and charming J. Pierrepont Finch as he rises from a window washer to a high-powered executive using nothing but luck, charm, and his handy how-to book. Finch’s journey is made even more entertaining by a cast of colorful characters, including the company president, J. B. Bigley, whose larger than life personality keeps the office on their toes, the kind-hearted and eager to marry secretary, Rosemary, and the hilariously overconfident Bud Frump. Each of these characters brings their own charm and comedic flair to the chaos of corporate life.
All performances are at Strath Haven Middle School, 200 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086, and include two shows on Saturdays, April 18 and April 25 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, April 19 and April 26 at 2 p.m.; and Wednesday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are general admission and good for any performance.
