• Large accumulation of dead bugs: Chester County restaurant inspections, Sept. 17, 2026 (lancasteronline.com) — Several Malvern food businesses, including Halal Meat Group, East Star Cuisine, Nicamex, One Source Micro Market, Building Blocks Learning Center, PJ Whelihan's, and White Manor Country Club, were recently inspected by Chester County health officials. One Malvern facility was temporarily closed over serious sanitation and handwashing violations, while others passed with minor issues, giving residents important insight into where they shop and dine right now.
   

• Vanguard Backs National Investing Contest for High Schoolers (mychesco.com) — Based out of Malvern, Vanguard is powering a new national investing competition that lets high school students practice long-term portfolio decisions in a risk-free simulation. Local educators can tap into the free My Classroom Investor tool this fall, with state rounds and a 2027 championship in Philadelphia giving Malvern-area students a chance to compete on a big stage.
