5 Months Of Route 252 Closures For Utility Work In Media Will Begin Soon

MEDIA, PA — A portion of Route 252 in Media will close during weekday daytime hours for nearly five months as Aqua Pennsylvania performs utility work, PennDOT announced.

Route 252 — locally known as Providence Road — will be closed between Cherry Street and State Road/Monroe Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. Work will begin Oct. 6, with weekday closures running through Feb. 26.

During work hours, drivers will be detoured along Kirk Lane, Orange Street and Baltimore Avenue, according to PennDOT. Here's a map of the area.

Local access will be maintained throughout the project, PennDOT said.

PennDOT warned drivers to allow additional travel time near the construction zone and along the detour route because backups and delays may occur.

The work is weather-dependent.

Aqua Pennsylvania will perform the work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
