Boil Water Advisory In Norristown, Plymouth May Be Lifted This Week: Officials

Officials are hopeful they'll have the issue resolved within a few days.

NORRISTOWN, PA — The boil water advisory issued Sunday in Montgomery County remains ongoing Wednesday, as Pennsylvania American Water crews continue to work on repairs.

Officials are hopeful the situation will be resolved by Friday morning, July 10.

The advisory covers portions of Norristown and Plymouth Township, including areas of Fairfield Road, Jefferson Street, Volpe Road, Penn Road, Regatta Circle, Plymouth Boulevard, Boyer Boulevard, Northview Boulevard, and the Plymouth Flats Apartments.

A total of 1,069 connections are impacted.

There was a loss of pressure in the distribution system due to an equipment failure Monday, officials said, which may have allowed contamination to enter the distribution system through back pressure.

"Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and cool before using; or use bottled water," the utility says. "You should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice."
