📰 News we're reading

• Flood Watch through late Sunday afternoon (capecod.com) — A National Weather Service Flood Watch is in effect for Bristol from late Saturday night through Sunday afternoon, with 0.5 to 2 inches of rain and possible 2–4 inch downpours in narrow bands. Residents in low-lying or poor-drainage areas should stay alert for potential flash flooding, monitor updated forecasts, and be ready to act if warnings are issued.

• Suicide prevention the goal of local weekend 5Ks (turnto10.com) — Veterans and neighbors gathered at Colt State Park in Bristol for a suicide-prevention 5K honoring Marine veteran Zachary Martin and raising funds for Operation Stand Down Rhode Island's services for veterans in crisis. At the same time, a related 5K in Fairhaven, Massachusetts supported the push for Conrad's Law, which would criminalize encouraging someone to take their own life.
