• Johnston Man Charged With Intending To Deliver Cocaine: Cops (patch.com) — A 39-year-old Johnston resident has been charged with intending to deliver cocaine following a Rhode Island State Police narcotics investigation. Officers say they arrested John Lenis on Sept. 22 after executing search warrants, then processed him at the Lincoln Woods Barracks before he was arraigned and taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions.
   

• Whistleblower Alleges Johnston, RI, Firefighters Get High, Drunk on Duty (firehouse.com) — Johnston residents are hearing serious allegations from firefighter Edward Spicer, who claims some colleagues were intoxicated on duty and that he faced retaliation for reporting it. Town officials, including the new fire chief and the mayor, strongly dispute his claims, though one firefighter was disciplined over unrelated conduct. The whistleblower lawsuit is now pending in Rhode Island Superior Court.
   

• Roundup: JHS volleyball wins 8th straight (johnstonsunrise.net) — Johnston High School's volleyball team has stretched its winning streak to eight matches, sweeping Burrillville 3–0 behind standout performances from several Panthers. Johnston football also notched a second straight victory, beating Lincoln 36–20 as sophomore quarterback Ethan Archambeault threw four touchdown passes. The Panthers now sit fifth in Division II and visit West Warwick next.
