• Pawtucket Council Approves $220M High School Bond (upriseri.com) — Pawtucket's City Council has authorized up to $220 million in bonds for the new high school, while relying on substantial state reimbursement to limit the local burden. Councilors also advanced a new parking enforcement officer, delayed approval of a three-year teachers' contract for more financial details, approved several labor agreements and licenses, and confirmed that meetings will soon move to new Freight Street chambers.
   

• Employment – Reduction in force (rilawyersweekly.com) — A federal judge has ruled that a former Hasbro employee can move forward with disability discrimination, retaliation, and unpaid wages claims tied partly to work at the company's Pawtucket office, while dismissing her age discrimination, accommodation, and WARN Act claims. The decision means a jury may still hear evidence about how Hasbro handled her termination and alleged remote work in 2022.
   

• Shawmut Named Rhode Island's #1 Fastest Growing Company by PBN (news-usa.today) — Pawtucket residents may be interested to know that construction has begun on the city's new $326 million high school, one of several major Rhode Island school projects managed by construction firm Shawmut. The company's rapid statewide growth, recognized by Providence Business News, is tied to expanding public K–12 work and outreach that introduces students to careers in construction and design.
