Pawtucket Robber Charged With Violating Parole: Police

PAWTUCKET, RI — A Pawtucket man was charged with violating his parole for a robbery conviction, police said.

Jamal Monteiro, 41, was arrested about 9 am. Tuesday by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Pawtucket Police Department, the state police said in a media release.

Monteiro was also wanted on a sex offender registration violation charge, according to the release.

"The arrest was the result of an investigation by the Violent Fugitive Task Force," the release said. "Mr. Monteiro was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center."
