Providence Man Jailed On Sexual Assault Charge: Cops

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was arrested and jailed on a sexual assault charge, police said.

Jefferson Noriega, 30, was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday on a warrant charging him with second-degree sexual assault, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Noriega was arrested during a traffic stop on Manton Street in Providence, the release said.

Noriega was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men's Intake, according to the release.
