Cayce drainage project blasting caused damage, hurt property value, lawsuit says (thestate.com) — A property owner is suing the City of Cayce and a contractor, alleging blasting for the Cayce Avenues drainage project damaged his Deliesseline Road home and reduced its value. The $10 million project, centered in the Avenues neighborhood and Guignard Park area, aims to replace aging pipes and reduce flooding, but now faces legal scrutiny over how the work was carried out.

West Columbia man shot, killed on May 23; Lexington man dies next day after shooting himself in related incident, coroner says (lexingtonchronicle.com) — A 21-year-old West Columbia man was shot and killed inside a Granby Road home in Cayce on May 23, and a Lexington man died the next day after shooting himself during a related police pursuit. Local and state agencies, including the Cayce Department of Public Safety, are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the homicide and subsequent chase.
   

4. Midlands Mugshots June 1 (abccolumbia.com) — A recent roundup of Midlands arrests includes one case where a person is being held for Cayce authorities, alongside a wide range of drug, traffic, and assault charges from across the region. While details are sparse, it’s a reminder of ongoing law-enforcement activity that can spill across city lines and affect Cayce residents’ sense of safety and justice.
