Columbia woman dies after being struck by train in Forest Acres (thestate.com) — A 61-year-old Columbia woman died early Wednesday after a commercial train struck her on the tracks along Two Notch Road near Forest Acres, an area many local residents travel through. Forest Acres police say the engineer used the horn and emergency brakes, but the train still needed about a half-mile to stop, and investigators are continuing to review what happened.
