• Youngs Chapel AME Church to Host Community Conversation on Voting, History and the Power of Civic Participation (carolinapanorama.com) — Youngs Chapel AME Church in Irmo is inviting residents to a free community conversation on voting, history, and civic power on Thursday, September 3, at 7 p.m. Historian Dr. Robert Greene II will walk neighbors through South Carolina's voting‑rights history and answer questions so Irmo‑area voters feel informed and prepared for November. 
• Irmo to open against Rock Hill (thenewirmonews.com) — Irmo High's Yellow Jackets kick off their new football season at home against Rock Hill this Friday, August 21, at 7:30 p.m., aiming to move past recent runner‑up finishes. Coach Aaron Brand expects a physical "statement game" as Irmo returns to Class 4A with a roster full of college‑level talent.
