• Growth drives YMCA of Greenville projects aimed to keep up with demand (greenvilleonline.com) — YMCA leaders say the Eastside Family YMCA in Taylors needs expansion to keep up with rapid growth in Taylors and nearby Greer, especially for youth sports. The Greenville association is upgrading fields, pools, and parking across multiple branches, while also fundraising for major improvements to handle long waitlists and frequent field flooding. 
• New SBC officers elected during annual meeting in Orlando (thebaptistpaper.org) — Southern Baptists have elected Florida pastor Willy Rice as their new convention president, defeating Josh Powell of Taylors First Baptist Church in Taylors. The meeting also elevated Travis Kerns, a mission strategist with the Three Rivers Baptist Association in Taylors, to recording secretary, giving local church leaders a role in national denominational decisions.
