• SLED investigates shooting that injured West Columbia officer and suspect (wltx.com) — A West Columbia police officer and a suspect were both wounded during a Wednesday night exchange of gunfire at the Gentle Pines Apartments on North Brown Street, now under SLED investigation. Neighbors reported hearing about six shots, and state agents say this is South Carolina’s 19th officer-involved shooting this year and the first for West Columbia police in 2026.
