ā¢ State budget includes funds for Carter Co. fire engine replacements, Helene recovery (wjhl.com) ā Elizabethton is set to receive more than $1.26 million in state funds to help cover Hurricane Helene recovery costs, alongside $5 million earmarked for Carter County. Lawmakers also secured $1.5 million to replace three volunteer fire department engines lost in the storm and additional money for Hampton High Schoolās bulldog water tower, with nearby Johnson County communities receiving separate recovery and youth sports funding.

Across Northeast Tennessee, sales rose over 10%, with Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol also posting increases. The regionās median home price now sits at $282,000, up 4.4% year-over-year despite some smaller markets cooling. Ā Ā Ā
