• Elevated levels of manganese found in Loudon water (wate.com) — Residents using Loudon Utilities’ water are being told manganese levels are slightly above EPA guidelines, but officials say the water is still safe to drink despite possible discoloration. Loudon Utilities is boosting treatment and flushing lines to bring levels back to normal and asks anyone noticing discolored water or staining to call 865-458-2091. Similar mineral issues were recently reported by another East Tennessee utility. 
• Former Loudon County Pastor Pleads Guilty to Stealing Over $330K from Church (wivk.com) — A former pastor connected to a Loudon County church has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $330,000 in church funds and will serve part of his sentence in the Loudon County Jail. Investigators say the money covered personal expenses ranging from credit card bills to travel and household items. He received an eight-year sentence with supervised probation and must pay restitution to the church.
• Roane State's Outstanding Alumni Award nomination window to close July 1 (themountainpress.com) — Roane State is accepting nominations through July 1, 2026, for its Outstanding Alumni Award, and Loudon County residents who attended the college are eligible to be nominated. Honorees will be recognized in their home counties, and nominations require a form plus a recommendation letter. The college, which has a Loudon County location and offers tuition-free options for eligible adults, provides full details and forms online.
