The study highlights how this small community near Erwin offers low housing costs while benefiting from Tennessee’s generally lower expenses and lack of state income tax. 
• Commission accepting applications for 1st Judicial District Criminal Court (elizabethton.com) — Residents of Unicoi County are part of the First Judicial District where a new Criminal Court judge will soon be appointed, and qualified local attorneys can apply. The Trial Court Vacancy Commission will hold a public hearing in Jonesborough on June 4, and applications are due May 6. This decision will shape criminal court leadership serving Unicoi and neighboring counties.
