Irish firm adds HQ in Dallas, 1,000 U.S. jobs to ride data center boom (dallasnews.com) — A fast-growing Irish engineering company has chosen Uptown Dallas for its new North American headquarters, planning to add 1,000 local jobs over the next five years. Focused on high‑voltage infrastructure for data centers and energy projects, the firm says Dallas' talent pool and booming data center market make it the ideal base for its U.S. expansion.
   

3. Suspect arrested in connection to Oak Cliff hit-and-run that left mother hospitalized (fox4news.com) — Dallas police have arrested 45-year-old Octavio Ramirez in connection with an August hit-and-run in Oak Cliff that left cyclist Lisa Martinez hospitalized on life support. Investigators say Flock cameras helped them track his damaged car after the crash on North Westmoreland Road. Ramirez is charged with collision causing serious bodily injury and is being held in Dallas County Jail without bond set.
   

4. Gas leak prompts evacuation of 325-unit Dallas apartment building during routine inspection (wfaa.com) — Residents of the Factory Design District apartments in Dallas' Design District remain evacuated after a gas leak discovered during a post‑fire inspection led Atmos Energy and Dallas Fire‑Rescue to cut power and keep people out. City emergency management staff and DART buses are on scene offering water, cooling and support while crews work to repair the damaged gas line.
   

5. Plano Police stop use of 90+ Flock cameras after state funding pause (wfaa.com) — Dallas residents should know that nearby Plano has shut off more than 90 Flock license plate cameras after Governor Abbott paused state funding, just days after Dallas cut about half of its roughly 700 cameras. Local leaders are waiting on next year's legislative session before seeking new money, raising questions about how long these surveillance tools will remain limited across North Texas.
