Dallas ISD high school offers barber classes (fox4news.com) — Skyline High School in Dallas ISD now offers a unique barbering program where students log 1,000 hours of training and split time between campus and local barbershops. Teens gain professional skills, give weekly "Community Cuts" to classmates, and hope to use barber income to support future college and career plans.
   

2. Dallas Fire-Rescue mobile blood program credited with saving 75 – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth (nbcdfw.com) — Dallas Fire-Rescue's mobile blood transfusion program is now operating citywide and is credited with saving about 75 lives, including a Dallas ISD officer shot in North Dallas last month. Crews use specially cooled blood units to begin transfusions at emergency scenes, and city leaders recently highlighted the program as a major public-safety innovation.
   

3. Bishop Arts break-ins caught on video as owners demand accountability – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth (nbcdfw.com) — Several small businesses in Dallas' Bishop Arts neighborhood were hit by overnight break-ins, with surveillance video showing a man smashing into Mantiiras and later targeting Wayward Coffee and Outpost Fine Goods. Owners say thieves cleared out cash, products, and even sodas, leaving them to cover repairs themselves and calling for whoever is responsible to be held fully accountable.
   

4. Neighbor calls DeSoto dog's death in heat preventable; owner calls it an unfortunate accident (cbsnews.com) — A dog's death during extreme heat at a DeSoto home in Dallas County has sparked a wave of outrage, an investigation, and an online petition with thousands of signatures. While the neighbor who filmed the distressed dog calls the loss preventable, the owners insist Rocko was loved and died in an unfortunate tethering accident, as officials emphasize Texas' Safe Outdoor Dogs Act requirements.
   

5. Talarico downplays President Trump's criticisms before RNC Midterm Convention in Dallas begins (cbsnews.com) — A major Republican National Committee midterm convention is about to bring intense political attention to Dallas, with President Trump's allies preparing fresh attacks on Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico. As Trump's super PAC readies a massive ad blitz, Talarico is courting disillusioned former Trump voters while holding a narrow polling lead over Republican Ken Paxton in this closely watched Texas race.
