McKinney National Airport to have full-scale planned safety exercises Friday (wfaa.com) — McKinney National Airport will run a large emergency drill today from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., bringing a heavy presence of police, fire, EMS, and city vehicles around the airport. Officials stress it's only a simulation, but nearby McKinney neighborhoods may notice significant activity as city departments, McKinney ISD, and local hospitals practice responding to worst-case aviation emergencies.

Three Collin County Cities Rank Among The Nation's Best For Kids (localprofile.com) — McKinney families can take pride in the city's No. 4 national ranking for childhood well-being, joining Frisco and Plano in the top four. The study credits strong results on child poverty, reading proficiency, absenteeism, lead risk, and park access, giving McKinney an overall score of 82.6 among the country's 100 largest cities.
