• Trader Joe's is expanding into five more Texas locations (wheninyourstate.com) — Plano is slated to get a second Trader Joe's at 5900 Preston Road in the Promontory on Preston development, with interior work planned from December 2026 through June 2027. The expansion is part of five new Texas locations, including Fort Worth, Wylie, Mansfield, and Bellaire, giving North Texas shoppers more grocery choices as multiple chains grow across the region.
   

• NTPA Announces 5th Annual Stardust Awards Gala (northdallasgazette.com) — Plano residents can look forward to North Texas Performing Arts' 5th Annual Stardust Awards Gala on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, at the Plano Event Center from 5–10 p.m. The evening will feature a chef's showcase, dinner, auctions, live entertainment, and a costume ball while honoring regional arts educators, volunteers, and organizations and raising funds for scholarships and theatre improvements.
   

• Collin County leaders weigh growing pains at Dallas Morning News event (dallasnews.com) — Collin County leaders, including Plano's mayor, gathered in downtown Plano to discuss how rapid growth is reshaping jobs, housing, transportation and infrastructure. Speakers highlighted rising inequality, water and road needs, and the push for better transit, while longtime Plano residents questioned tax incentives and access to healthcare as the region's population and congestion continue to climb.
