The report, focused on a mostly elevated route along SH 130 and I‑10, outlines big price tags but no ridership forecasts yet, while state officials also examine cheaper upgrades to existing tracks through San Marcos and New Braunfels.
   

2. Drivers adjust to 'confusing' TxDOT interchange at Loop 1604 and Blanco Road (ksat.com) — A new diverging diamond interchange at Loop 1604 and Blanco on San Antonio's North Side is speeding up traffic but leaving many drivers confused at first. TxDOT says the $279 million project is part of the broader Loop 1604 North Expansion, with completion expected by late 2026 and another similar interchange planned elsewhere in the city.
   

3. Neighbors raise concerns after repeated crashes damage San Antonio cemetery (kens5.com) — Repeated vehicle crashes are damaging the fence and even gravesites at San Fernando II Cemetery on San Antonio's West Side, leaving nearby families worried about safety and repair costs. Neighbors say speeding and distracted driving are likely factors and fear more serious damage, while KENS 5 reports the Archdiocese of San Antonio has not yet responded to questions about the ongoing problem.
   

4. Recent crime fuels fear in San Antonio's downtown as residents demand action (kens5.com) — Residents near a downtown San Antonio parking lot by Hemisfair say nightly gunfire, fights, and reckless driving are making the area feel dangerous, and recent SAPD crime data backs up their concerns. A new 24/7 paid parking policy starts August 31, and more than 30 park police officers will be integrated into downtown patrols in late September as city and Centro leaders push to restore a sense of safety.
   

5. Ex-constable says sons deserve apology after medical call ends in arrests, lawsuit filed (news4sanantonio.com) — A former Bexar County constable's three sons are suing the City of San Antonio, SAPD and SAFD after a 2024 medical call ended with their arrests instead of an ambulance ride. They allege excessive force, unlawful entry, and a misleading report about a "violent bystander," while calling for better training for San Antonio first responders as they seek damages for physical and emotional harm.
