• Geenex Power proposes nuclear power plant in Amherst County (wsls.com) — A major nuclear power project is being explored along the James River in Amherst County, potentially bringing up to 650 megawatts of power generation and more than 200 permanent local jobs. Geenex Power’s Beck Creek Energy Project is still in early study and permitting stages, with rezoning talks expected around 2027 and construction tentatively eyed for the early 2030s, and residents invited to share feedback now.
