• No second school closure as Bedford County moves to redistrict (wset.com) — Big Island families just avoided a second school closure, as Bedford County’s school board chose countywide redistricting while keeping Big Island Elementary open and Stewartsville Elementary closed. New boundary maps are still being drafted, with a public hearing on November 12 and a final vote December 10, ahead of changes planned for the 2027–2028 school year.
