• Washington and Lee University's Economic Impact Estimated at $275 Million (wlu.edu) — Washington and Lee University is credited with a $1.73 million net benefit to Lexington’s city government and a major boost to local jobs and businesses. A new study estimates W&L’s total regional economic impact at $275 million, including tens of thousands of volunteer hours and grants to Lexington-area nonprofits that support everything from Main Street to health care and food security.
   

• Rockbridge County mourn loss of teacher, baseball coach Travis Roadcap (wsls.com) — Rockbridge County High School and the Lexington community are grieving the death of head baseball coach and faculty member Travis Roadcap, remembered as a beloved teacher and mentor. Counselors will be available at the school, and a candlelight vigil is planned Saturday evening at the Wildcats’ baseball field for students, families, and neighbors to pay their respects.
