Arlington Man Charged In Attempted Robbery On Wilson Boulevard

ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington man was arrested early Wednesday after police said he attempted to rob a man outside a business on Wilson Boulevard and damaged the victims’ vehicle.

Miguel Lopez Lemuz, 18, of Arlington, was charged with attempted robbery, assault and battery, and destruction of property, according to the Arlington County Police Department. He was held without bond.

Police were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. to the 1800 block of Wilson Boulevard for a report of a robbery.

According to police, a man and woman were entering a business when Lopez Lemuz allegedly threw food items at the woman. The two victims and the suspect briefly left the area before returning in their vehicles.

When the male victim got out of his vehicle, Lopez Lemuz, who was sitting outside the business, demanded the man’s cellphone, police said. A verbal dispute followed, and the victims went inside the store.

Police said Lopez Lemuz then damaged the victims’ vehicle before fleeing in his vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Officers broadcast a lookout, and an officer found the suspect’s vehicle in the area of Fairfax Drive and North Pierce Street. Police conducted a traffic stop, and Lopez Lemuz was taken into custody.
