US Park Police Officer Seriously Injured In Route 50 Crash: LCSO

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – An on-duty U.S. Park Police officer was seriously injured in a vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 50 and the Loudoun County Parkway Wednesday afternoon, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The accident occurred at about 1:45 p.m., according to LCSO. The officer sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital; the occupants of the other vehicle were not injured and were released from the scene.

Loudoun Now reports that the officer is a motor sergeant and was riding a motorcycle, and that the injuries are not life-threatening.

Loudoun County's Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating and asks drivers to avoid the area.
