1. County board OKs $900,000 to plan for future Chantilly arts center (ffxnow.com) — Fairfax County supervisors have set aside $900,000 to push ahead with design, permitting, and bidding for a new arts hub planned in Chantilly's Westfields area, aiming to be construction‑ready by 2029. The county is partnering with developer Timber Ridge Management, which is providing the land, site work, and $1.3 million, while officials debate long‑term costs and balance other priorities like school crossing guards and library funding.
   

2. Soon, You'll Be Able to See an F-117 Nighthawk at the Smithsonian (nationalinterest.org) — Chantilly's Udvar‑Hazy Center will soon showcase "The Overachiever," the only F‑117 Nighthawk stealth jet on display anywhere on the East Coast, arriving in late October. The aircraft flew in four major conflicts before retirement, and will be transported by C‑5 Galaxy to Dulles, reassembled in the museum's restoration hangar, and then opened for public viewing.
   

3. ARHA Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority (alextimes.com) — An environmental consultant based in Chantilly is managing a voluntary cleanup of historic dry-cleaning contamination at a commercial site in Alexandria, and residents can submit written comments for 30 days after publication. The plan restricts groundwater use, bans residential redevelopment, and requires ongoing operation of vapor control systems and similar protections for any future buildings on the property.
   

4. Virginia Man Convicted of Investor and Bankruptcy Fraud Scheme (blogspot.com) — A Chantilly man has been convicted in federal court in Alexandria for a multimillion-dollar fraud scheme that targeted people in his community and later involved concealing assets during bankruptcy. Prosecutors say he promised high-yield investments, then diverted more than $2.5 million for personal use, and now faces potential decades in prison when sentenced in December.
