Fairfax City Council Member Stacy Hall submitted this statement to Patch Thursday morning about being reelected in Tuesday's General Election.

Thank you, Fairfax!

To everyone who donated, volunteered, put a sign in your yard, knocked on doors, stood outside a polling place, or sent me a kind message when I needed one, thank you. You gave your time, energy, and encouragement so generously. I felt it all the way through Election Day.

A very special thank you to my husband, Russ, my sons Ryan and Andrew, and the boys’ friends who jumped in to help. My family lived through months of yard signs, campaign conversations at the dinner table, and plenty of “Can you help me with one more thing?” (It was rarely one more thing. 😊) Seeing my kids and their friends give up part of their weekends to help meant more to me than I can put into words.

Thank you to our poll workers and elections staff for the long hours and care you put into helping our neighbors vote. And to every candidate who put their name on the ballot, thank you for stepping forward and putting so much of yourselves into this election. I appreciate what each of you brought to the conversation about how to move Fairfax forward.

Some of my favorite moments from this campaign happened on front porches and sidewalks, when someone took a few minutes to tell me what they love about Fairfax or what they wish we’d do better. I’m grateful you trusted me with those conversations, and I’ll carry them with me in my work on Council.

Whether or not you voted for me, I’m here to serve you. If you reach out with a question, an idea, or a concern, I’ll listen, take it seriously, and treat you with the same respect and care every resident deserves.

My priorities remain responsible budgeting, strong schools, safe neighborhoods, and thoughtful growth that respects our community. That means asking tough questions about spending, preparing for school renovations while keeping affordability in mind, and carefully evaluating how development affects our neighborhoods and infrastructure. I’ll also continue working to make city decisions understandable and give residents meaningful opportunities to be heard.

There will always be some negativity, especially around elections. Now that Election Day is behind us, I hope we’ll take a moment to remember that we’re neighbors and we all call Fairfax home. We can disagree, listen to each other, and still treat one another with respect. There’s plenty of work ahead, and I look forward to doing it together.

I love this city, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep serving it. This is YOUR city, and YOUR voice matters!
