Atlantic Builders has joined a national homebuilder pledge to raise $10 million for community nonprofits.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Atlantic Builders, a Virginia-based homebuilder, has joined a national giving initiative aimed at raising $10 million over two years for nonprofit organizations that support communities, housing access and local quality-of-life programs.
The initiative, called the Builder Giving Challenge, brings together homebuilding companies that are members of the National Association of Home Builders. According to the announcement, the participating builders collectively produce more than 5,000 homes each year across the United States.
Atlantic Builders said it will focus its efforts on nonprofit programs in northern and central Virginia. The company plans to report its contributions twice a year, tracking dollars raised, volunteer hours and local housing initiatives supported.

Company Says Giving Is Part Of Building Communities
“We have always believed that building a home is about more than the structure itself. It is about the neighborhood, the schools, the families, and the future of northern and central Virginia regions,” Brian Roinestad, vice president at Atlantic Builders, said in a statement. “We are proud to stand alongside fellow homebuilders in pledging that our industry's commitment to this community does not stop at the front door.”
The company said the pledge is intended to highlight the role homebuilders play in local communities, including support for nonprofits, volunteer work and investment in neighborhoods.

Jim Tobin, CEO of the National Association of Home Builders, said builders often contribute to their communities beyond housing construction.
“Homebuilders take enormous pride in giving back to the communities they serve,” Tobin said in a statement. “Every day, across this country, our members are not just building homes. They are coaching youth sports, volunteering at food banks, funding local nonprofits, and investing in our neighborhoods.”
Progress To Be Reported Publicly
Organizers of the Builder Giving Challenge said progress toward the $10 million goal will be reported publicly on a regular basis.
The announcement said participating companies will track and report contributions twice a year as part of an effort to keep the initiative transparent and accountable.
