Early Morning Shooting At Fredericksburg Apartment Building Investigated

Investigators are trying to identify the person responsible for Friday's shooting at a Fredericksburg apartment building, authorities say.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Fredericksburg police were on the scene of a shooting just before 4 a.m. Friday in the 1100 block of Forest Village Avenue, according to authorities.

Investigators determined that an apartment building had been struck by gunfire and no injuries were reported, according to a post on FPD's Facebook page. As of 9 a.m., no description of the suspect was available.

A large contingent of FPD personnel will remain in the area, as detectives continue to investigate the scene of the shooting, police say. Motorists are urged to avoid the Forest Village Avenue area and seek alternate routes.
