Fredericksburg Wegmans Customers Raise $7,417 For Local Food Bank
Fredericksburg Wegmans customers donated $7,417 to the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank during the annual campaign.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Customers shopping at the Fredericksburg Wegmans helped raise $7,417 for the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank during the company's annual Fill the Bus/Fill the Backpack campaign, part of a record-setting effort that generated $769,300 across Wegmans stores.
The annual hunger-relief campaign ran June 3-17 and invited customers to donate at checkout, with every dollar staying in the community where it was collected. Wegmans said customers donated $43,000 more than during the 2025 campaign.
The Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank was one of 11 Virginia organizations receiving campaign proceeds. Statewide recipients also included Food for Others, Loudoun Hunger Relief, Capital Area Food Bank, FeedMore, SERVE, ACTS, Alive!, Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia and Eastern Shore, and Western Fairfax Christian Ministries.

"Each year, our customers step up in an incredible way to support their neighbors, and their generosity continues to inspire us," Deana Percassi, Wegmans vice president of community engagement and communications, said in a statement.
Funds raised through the campaign support local food banks' summer feeding and backpack programs, helping provide meals for children when school is not in session and free or reduced-price school meals are unavailable.
