Spotsylvania I-95 Exit 126A Ramp To Route 1 To Close Overnight
The northbound off-ramp to northbound Route 1 will close nightly May 3 through May 8, according to VDOT.
SPOTSYLVANIA, VA — Drivers in Spotsylvania will face overnight changes on Interstate 95 next week as the I-95 northbound off-ramp at exit 126A to northbound Route 1 closes between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
VDOT said the nightly closure will begin Sunday, May 3, and continue through early Friday, May 8, as crews continue work to improve the interstate interchange at exit 126 in Spotsylvania.
According to VDOT, northbound drivers trying to reach northbound Route 1 should use the interchange that best fits their destination at exit 118 in Thornburg or exit 130 at Route 3 in Fredericksburg. The agency said detour signs will direct I-95 northbound traffic to continue to exit 130, then use the loop ramps to head southbound on I-95 and reach Route 1 northbound at exit 126. Message boards and roadside signs also will warn drivers about the closure and guide them along the detour, VDOT said.
