Alexandria Man Arrested In Hybla Valley Shooting, Multiple Guns Seized: Police

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — An Alexandria man is being held without bond after an argument among a group of people led to a shooting that injured a man in Hybla Valley, according to Fairfax County police.

Jihad Oliver-White, 24, of Alexandria, was arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting, which occurred shortly before 6:25 p.m. on Saturday in the 7900 block of Fordson Road.

When officers arrived in the area, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives believe Oliver-White and the victim were among a group of people when a verbal argument broke out and escalated into the shooting, police said.

Oliver-White was charged with malicious wounding, shooting at an occupied dwelling and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.

Detectives also searched Oliver-White's home and recovered multiple guns, according to police. Authorities did not say whether any of the weapons seized were used in the shooting.
