VDOT will alternate inside and outside lane closures through fall 2026, urging motorists to slow down and follow signs in the work zone.

Hampton council approves $700 million budget (pilotonline.com) — Hampton’s new $708 million budget keeps the real estate tax rate steady but raises stormwater, wastewater, and trash fees while boosting city employee and public safety pay. It also funds major road, flooding, homelessness, and school initiatives that will shape services, programs, and costs for Hampton residents over the next several years.

5. 2 arrested on drug, gun charges after traffic stop (the-dispatch.com) — A Hampton man and a New York driver were arrested after deputies say they found fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana and a stolen gun during a traffic stop on I-85 in Davidson County. The Hampton resident faces multiple drug and firearm charges that could have legal and personal repercussions back home.
