• Hampton community mourns 2-year-old Chozen Gray after fatal shooting (wtkr.com) — Hampton neighbors gathered Sunday on LaSalle Avenue to mourn 2-year-old Chozen Gray, who was fatally shot there last Wednesday night, and to support his grieving family. Community activist Christopher Moore and other speakers urged residents to unite, reflect on protecting children, and prevent similar tragedies, even as investigators have released few details and say they are not seeking suspects.
   

• Blood drive held in Hampton to raise awareness about Sickle Cell Disease (wtkr.com) — Hampton residents turned out Sunday to donate blood at a local drive aimed at supporting people living with Sickle Cell disease, which disproportionately affects Black Americans. Members of the Hampton Chapter of Jack & Jill of America partnered with the American Red Cross, stressing how each unit can help multiple patients and encouraging more African American donors to boost lifesaving blood diversity.
   

• Coast Guard search for person missing in Chickahominy River (wavy.com) — Emergency crews, including responders from the City of Hampton, are helping the Coast Guard search for a person reported missing in the Chickahominy River near Vivi’s Mexican Restaurant and Brickyard Landing. Mariners in the area are urged to watch carefully for search boats and avoid interfering with the ongoing operation while authorities continue efforts to locate the individual.
