ā¢ Regional PB&J challenge nets over 21,000 jars for food banks (smithfieldtimes.com) ā Smithfield residents helped Isle of Wight County and neighboring Hampton Roads communities collect more than 21,000 jars of peanut butter and jelly for two regional food banks during a friendly September competition. Donations from Smithfield and other localities supported the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, with Norfolk ultimately topping the leaderboard on points. What your neighbors are talking about on social media
- Yesterday, someone asked me a thought-provoking question: if your family or loved ones were facing a crisis, would you rather be a victim helpless and at the mercy of others, ultimately carried away by six pallbearers or someone who fights back,
